GULFPORT, Miss. -- State Farm Fire & Casualty Co. agreed Jan. 23 to settle more than 600 Hurricane Katrina insurance coverage suits pending in Mississippi federal court and a separate lawsuit filed by Mississippi Attorney General Jim Hood on behalf of policyholders seeking coverage for damages caused by Katrina (Dennis R. and S. Imani Woullard v. State Farm Fire and Casualty Co., No. 06-1057, S.D. Miss.; Jim Hood, attorney general for the State of Mississippi, v. Mississippi Farm Bureau Insurance, State Farm Fire and Casualty Co., et al, Miss. Chanc., Hinds Co., No. G-2005-1642).
