   AP - The Screen Actors Guild board of directors voted unanimously Saturday to hire former NFL players union executive Doug Allen as the organization's national executive director and chief negotiator.

'House of Wax' actress Kirk dies at 79 (AP)
   

AP - Phyllis Kirk, who played the raven-haired beauty stalked by Vincent Price in the 1950s horror film "House of Wax," has died. She was 79.

   Reuters - A modern-day Russian adaptation of Shakespeare's Hamlet won the best-film award at Rome's first international film festival, as the nine-day movie marathon wrapped up on Saturday.
