Hellboy Animated Movie
   

Can't wait for the next Hellboy Movie? Neither can I. Looks like we might get a fix. An animated fix.

My friend Terry Points out:

Hellboy: Sword of Storms, the first of the animated Hellboy movies, debuts Saturday at 9:30 p.m. ET/PT on Cartoon Network.

In Sword of Storms, ?a professor of folklore opens a forbidden scroll and becomes possessed by the ancient Japanese demons of Thunder and Lightning, who seek to return and dominate our world. The Bureau for Paranormal Research and Defense sends Hellboy and a team of agents to investigate, but when Hellboy picks up a samurai sword, he literally disappears into a weird wonderland of Japanese legends, ghosts and monsters.?

The movie will be available on DVD beginning Feb. 6.

Animated adaptations can be great, or not so great, but we will have to see how this one is. I am hopeful!

"Death of a President" shocks some at U.S. debut (Reuters)
   

Reuters - The film is called "Death of a President" and its provocative premise has stirred up plenty of controversy. But it still managed to surprise several moviegoers on its U.S. debut.

AP - The Dixie Chicks are again at the center of a controversy over the limits of opinionated talk. A film company said Friday that NBC wouldn't accept an advertisement for "Shut Up & Sing," a movie about the fuss created by Dixie Chick Natalie Maines' comment that she was ashamed President Bush was a fellow Texan. The network suggested the complaint may be a publicity stunt.

Reuters - Citing its policy barring ads dealing with "public controversy," the NBC network said on Friday it rejected a TV commercial for a new film documenting the furor over the Dixie Chicks' criticism of President George W. Bush.

   Conceived as a fictional TV documentary broadcast in 2008, reflecting on another monstrously despicable and cataclysmic event: the assassination of President George W. Bush on October 19th, 2007. The “documentary” combines archival footage and carefully composed interviews, presented in a respectful and dignified manner.
